Kim Gyo-sin (1871-1932) inherited the title of baron and a seat on the Government-General's advisory council (Jungchuwon) from his father Kim Chun-hui (1855-1926), who had received them after Japan's annexation of Korea.
When Kim Gyo-sin himself died in 1932, the title passed again, this time to his son Kim Jeong-rok, who was studying in China at the time and returned home upon his father's death to inherit it. For holding and passing on this hereditary title of Japanese-colonial nobility, Kim Gyo-sin was designated a pro-Japanese collaborator by South Korea's Truth Commission and listed in the Dictionary of Pro-Japanese Collaborators compiled by the Institute for Research in Collaborationist Activities.
