Kim Jong-han (1844-1932), of the Sin-Andong Kim clan, rose through senior Korean Empire posts including vice-minister of personnel and governor of South Hamgyong Province.
He entered modern banking as a founding participant of the Joseon Bank in 1896 and as president of Hanseong Bank from 1903. After Japan's 1910 annexation of Korea he was rewarded with the title of baron and a state annuity bond for his cooperation, later serving as deputy director of a colonial relief fund and head of an allied chamber organization. He is listed as a pro-Japanese collaborator by South Korea's Truth Commission and in the Dictionary of Pro-Japanese Biography.
His baronial title passed down through his son Kim Gu-dong to his grandson Kim Se-hyun.
