The Andong Kim clan (安東 金氏) has its ancestral seat in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, and has two lines with different founders: the Old Andong Kim clan, which takes the Goryeo Taesa Kim Suk-seung (金叔承) as its founder, and the New Andong Kim clan, which takes the Goryeo founding merit subject Kim Seon-pyeong (金宣平) as its founder.

Kim Seon-pyeong, founder of the New Andong Kim clan, is revered, together with Kwon Haeng and Jang Jeong-pil, as one of the Three Grand Masters (三太師) of Andong for his merit in helping Wang Geon defeat Later Baekje. In the late Joseon period, figures who led the in-law politics (sedo) of the reigns from Sunjo to Cheoljong came from this New Andong Kim clan (the so-called Jangdong Kim), and Kim Sang-heon, the loyal subject of the Byeongja War, also belonged to this line.
