Student whose death sparked the April 19 Revolution

A native of Namwon and student at Masan Commercial High School, he joined protests against the rigged March 15, 1960 election and disappeared; about a month later his body was found in the sea off Masan with a tear-gas shell lodged in his eye. The incident spread the protests and is regarded as a trigger of the April 19 Revolution.
