Kim Han-gyu (1877–1950) began as a Ministry of Education secretary in the late Korean Empire before becoming a leading figure in colonial-era finance, serving as auditor of the Bank of Joseon Commerce and advisor to the Industrial Bank of Joseon, and as president of the Joseon Trust Bank from 1945 to 1947. He was also a vice-councillor and later full councillor of the Governor-General's Central Advisory Council, joined pro-Japanese groups such as the Daejeong Silup Chinmokhoe, and served as vice-chairman of the Joseon National Defense Association, actions for which he is listed as a pro-Japanese collaborator.
