Life & career

Hong Sa-ik (洪思翊) was a Korean-born soldier who graduated from the Imperial Japanese Army Academy and rose to the rank of lieutenant general in the Japanese army.

Pro-Japanese activities During the Pacific War he oversaw Allied prisoner-of-war camps, and after the war he was executed as a war criminal for his responsibility in the abuse of prisoners. He is listed in the Dictionary of Pro-Japanese Collaborators (Chinil Inmyeong Sajeon).
