Yi Myeong-je (李明濟, 1893–1947) was an independence activist who served in the Transportation and Finance Departments of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea. Around April 1919 (lunar calendar), he was dispatched to Seoul as the Chungcheong Province transportation special envoy by Kim Cheol, deputy chief of the Provisional Government's Transportation Department, and worked with Yi Won-saeng and others to establish a Chungcheong transportation sub-bureau, handling liaison between the homeland and the Provisional Government.
That same year, together with Seo Jeong-seop, he raised independence movement funds, soliciting money from Yi Hui-seong in Dangjin, South Chungcheong, and delivering the funds received to Provisional Government official Sin Jeong-sik, continuing such activities in the Dangjin area until September. In 1920 he also served as a founding committee member of the Hoseo Student Dormitory and as a founding director of the Korean Mutual Aid Association. His activities as a member of the Provisional Government's Transportation Department were discovered by Japanese police and he was arrested. In 1990 he was posthumously awarded the Order of Merit for National Foundation (Patriotic Medal).
