Jeon Gil (全佶), a 28th-generation Jeongseon Jeon, is founder of the Bogya-gong branch. According to the clan association, when the Mongol general Sartaq invaded in the 18th year of King Gojong (1231), Jeon Gil, then Deputy Royal Secretary, led his troops to Uiju, killed many Mongol soldiers and took prisoners, and was rewarded with the post of Left Vice-Minister (Jwabogya) of the Cheomuibu. He is described as a man of both letters and arms; his dates are not confirmed.
The clan association says that when Sartaq invaded in August 1231, Jeon Gil fought at Uiju and was rewarded with the post of Left Vice-Minister (Jwabogya), a second-rank office of the Sangseo-doseong, which gave the branch its name. The Uiju battle is not detailed in the standard histories, so this relies on the clan's own record.
His tomb was not confirmed.
His descendants lived mainly in Jeongju county, North Pyeongan, and a Bogya-gong clan village exists at Hajeo-ri, Ganggu-myeon, Yeongdeok, North Gyeongsang.
