Jeon Maeng-gyeom (全孟謙) was the eldest son of Jeon O-ryun, a 30th-generation Jeongseon Jeon. After serving as magistrate of Hapcheon (Gangyang) he settled late in life at Yeongseung-ri, Mari-myeon, Geochang, becoming the founder-settler of that area (then Anui county), according to the Digital Geochang Culture Encyclopedia. His father died at his house in 1425. Most of the Chaemiheon-gong branch today descend from him.
Yeongseung-ri in Mari-myeon, Geochang is the representative seat of the Chaemiheon-gong branch. A 2000 count gives 155 households and 407 Jeongseon Jeon in Geochang, with 18 households left at Yeongseung-ri. Hakdong in Wolgye-ri and Songnim in Malheul-ri were once clan villages too.
A memorial stele for him, the Sanghogun Jeongseon Jeon Gong Yujeokbi, stands beside Yeongseung Seowon in Yeongseung-ri.
His descendants settled at Yeongseung-ri and Wolgye-ri in Geochang and across South Gyeongsang. Jeon Cheol (33rd generation) was a maternal uncle of Yi Hwang (Toegye)'s wife, and Yi Hwang is said to have visited Yeongseung in 1543.
