Founder of the Sanghogun branch; Chief Military Commander who repelled Japanese pirates in early Joseon

Jeon Yeong-bu (全英富), a 30th-generation Jeongseon Jeon, is founder of the Sanghogun branch. The clan association says he was chosen among nine men selected for mastery of the classics in Goryeo, and that on 11 July of Taejo 6 (1397) he, as Chiefs Military Commander (Cheomjeoljesa), was ordered with Yi Ji, Yi Cheon-u, Jang Cheol and others to take royal guards and stone-throwers to sea against Japanese pirates, as recorded in the Veritable Records. He later served as Sanghogun. His dates are not confirmed.
The clan notes Cheomjeoljesa Jeon Yeong-bu among the officers sent in July 1397 to drive off Japanese pirates. The post was a third-rank provincial military office, and he later rose to Sanghogun. He should not be confused with Jeon Yeong-bo (Lord Dowon) of late Goryeo.
His tomb was not confirmed.
His descendants were centred on Gyeongseong county in North Hamgyeong.
