Ma Gye-byeon (b. 1574) was a mid-Joseon official of the Jangheung Ma clan, courtesy name Jaseung. He is recorded as from Gangjin, Jeolla; his death year is unknown. The only family member confirmed on Wikipedia is his father Ma Hui-jo; other family details were not confirmed.
He became a saengwon in 1624 (Injo 2) and passed the regular civil examination in 1633 (Injo 11), according to the Gukjo Munkwa Bangmok. He later served as Seonggyungwan Jeonjeok, a post assisting in the education of students that went to scholars of learning.
The Wikipedia article is a stub, so no further career was confirmed. Even so Ma Gye-byeon is meaningful as a case of the Jangheung Ma entering office through examinations around Gangjin. This can be linked with the fact that Gundong and Jakcheon in Gangjin are known Ma villages and that the family of Ma Cheon-mok built the fortress in the same region. The birth year follows Wikipedia, and details should be checked in primary sources such as the Gukjo Munkwa Bangmok. The overall family flow is on the Jangheung Ma page.
Wikipedia records that he passed the regular civil examination in 1633.
