The Suwon Baek clan (水原 白氏) is a surname with its ancestral seat in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. Its founder is Baek U-gyeong (白宇經), said to be a person of the reign of King Gyeongdeok of Silla, while the mid-founder whose lineage is clearly continued is Baek Chang-jik (白昌稷) of early Goryeo. As the representative ancestral seat of the Baek surname, it is from here that the Yeompo Baek, Buyeo Baek, Daeheung Baek, Haemi Baek clans, and others branched out.
It produced many civil officials and scholars, including the incorrupt Joseon scholar Baek In-geol.
