Life & career

Bae Seol (1551-1599), son of Bae Deok-mun, passed the military examination and served as magistrate of Hapcheon, Jinju and Seonsan. He is said to have built the Geumosanseong fortress at Seonsan, and in the Chongyu War, as Right Naval Commander of Gyeongsang, took part in naval engagements including Myeongnyang. He was posthumously honored as a merit subject and made Minister of War.
