Kim Gyeong-hui (1896.11.30–1952.8.3) was from Jocheon-ri, Sinjwa-myeon (present-day Jocheon-myeon), Jeju. In March 1919 he joined a plan led by Kim Si-beom, together with Go Jae-yun, Kim Hyeong-bae, Kim Yeon-bae, Hwang Jin-sik and others, to stage a mass demonstration at Mimit Hill in Jocheon. On March 21, a large Taegukgi flag was raised at Mimit Hill, and after Kim Si-beom read out the Declaration of Independence, Kim Gyeong-hui marched with 500–600 fellow residents to Jocheon's Biseokgeori, shouting for independence.
He was arrested and, on April 26, 1919, was sentenced by the Jeju branch of the Gwangju District Court to six months in prison for violating the Security Law; his appeal was rejected by the Daegu Court of Appeals on May 29, and he served out his sentence.
