Queen Hyeondeok of the Gwon clan (1418-1441) was consort of King Munjong and mother of King Danjong, a daughter of Gwon Jeon, Hwasan Buwongun of the Andong Gwon clan. She married Munjong while he was crown prince and is said to have died of postpartum illness after giving birth to Danjong in 1441.
After her death her family was implicated in the Danjong restoration plot and her status was demoted, then restored in the reign of King Jungjong.
Her father was Gwon Jeon, Hwasan Buwongun, and her mother Lady Choe, Haeryeong Bubuin. She is presented as a leading figure of the Bujeong-gong branch, and her brother was Gwon Ja-sin, Minister of Rites.
The third crown princess of Munjong when he was crown prince, she died a day after giving birth to Danjong in 1441. She received the title Hyeondeok-bin and was posthumously raised to queen after Munjong's accession.
When her mother and brother Gwon Ja-sin were executed for involvement in the Danjong restoration plot, Queen Hyeondeok and her father were also implicated and reduced to commoner status. Her restoration as queen was settled in 1513 under Jungjong, and Gwon Jeon was cleared under Sukjong. Dates may vary between sources.
Her tomb was first Soreung in Ansan, Gyeonggi, and after 1513 is described as moved to Munjong's Hyeonreung in Guri.
