Life & career

O Dae-bung (1550-1607) was a mid-Joseon figure from Gongju whom the 2012 "Boseong O" series in DT News24 introduces as a loyal subject of the clan who escorted the king during the Imjin War. His Chinese-character name was not confirmed in the article, so none is given. He is said to have taught pupils at the foot of Hyojisan afterward.

The article says his tomb is in Gongju and his shrine was designated Gongju Cultural Heritage No. 27 in 1997. His specific posts and the circumstances of the escort could not be confirmed here.

This person could not be found in encyclopedic entries such as Wikipedia, and his seat rests on this one series. This page therefore records only what was confirmed, and details should be supplemented with Gongju heritage materials and the clan genealogy.
