Shin Gae (申槩, 1374-1446), courtesy name Ja-gyeok and posthumous name Munhui, was the founder of the Munhui-gong branch. A son of Shin An, he passed the civil examination in 1393 and is said to have strongly argued against Taejo's request to view the Veritable Records, setting a precedent. Under Sejong he served as Minister of Personnel and Right Chamber Councillor, took part in compiling the History of Goryeo, and became Left State Councillor in 1445.
