Life & career

Sin Heum (申欽, 1566–1628) was a civil official and master of prose of the mid-Joseon period, with the art name Samchon (象村). A master of Chinese literature, he is counted, together with Yi Jeong-gu, Jang Yu, and Yi Sik, among the so-called "Wol-Sang-Gye-Taek" (月象谿澤) four great masters of prose.

He served as Minister of Letters (Daejehak) and Chief State Councillor, and led state affairs during the reign of King Injo. He left the collected works Samchonjip.
