Yun Gyeong-bin escaped forced conscription as a Korean student soldier in 1944 and joined the Hanguang unit of the Korean Liberation Army, contributing to the independence movement until liberation. Born in Junghwa, South Pyongan Province, he graduated from Pyongyang Higher Common School and was studying at Meiji University in Japan when he was forcibly conscripted; he escaped in China and made his way to the Korean Provisional Government in Chongqing to enlist in the Liberation Army, serving in the same unit as Jang Jun-ha and Kim Jun-yeop. He later served as an adjutant at Liberation Army headquarters and as a bodyguard to Kim Gu.
He returned to Korea in November 1945 with other Provisional Government leaders and was active in various political parties afterward. He served as the 14th president of the Association of Patriots and Bereaved Families from 1999 to 2002, during which he published a list of 708 pro-Japanese collaborators, and received the Order of Merit for National Foundation in 1990.
