Yun Im (1487-1545) was a mid-Joseon royal in-law of the Papyeong Yun clan, son of Yun Yeo-pil, Lord Pawon. His sister was Queen Janggyeong, first queen of King Jungjong, making him maternal uncle of King Injong.
As the center of the Injong-side in-laws he was called Daeyun (Great Yun), opposed by the Soyun faction of Yun Won-hyeong, uncle of King Myeongjong, over the succession. When Injong died after eight months and Myeongjong took the throne, the Eulsa Literati Purge broke out in 1545; Yun Im was impeached and sentenced to exile at Namhae, but was given poison at Chungju on the way, and his three sons were executed.
His descendants were pardoned in 1567, his sons rehabilitated under Seonjo, and he himself was restored in 1577. He is said to have been posthumously made chief state councillor for the merit of his son Yun Heung-sin, who died fighting in the Imjin War.
His sister Queen Janggyeong died soon after bearing Injong, and as Injong's uncle he became the center of the Daeyun. The conflict with the Soyun on Queen Munjeong's side was mediated by Jungjong but did not subside.
When Myeongjong took the throne in 1545 he was removed in the Eulsa Purge launched by the Yun Won-hyeong faction. He was given poison on the road to exile and his three sons were executed with him.
He was restored in 1577, and his son Yun Heung-sin, who fell at Dadaepo with his brother Yun Heung-je in the early Imjin War, was named a first-class Seonmu wonjong merit subject in 1604 and enshrined at Chungnyeolsa in Dongnae in 1736.
His tomb is said to have been moved to Hyangdong, Goyang, in 1590.
His son Yun Heung-sin died fighting as commander of Dadaepo in the Imjin War. He is placed in the Pando-gong (Jeongjeong-gong) line.
