Sim Hoe (沈澮, 1418–1493) was an early-Joseon official of the Cheongsong Sim clan, with the courtesy name Cheongbo and the posthumous title Gongsuk. Grandson of Left State Councillor Sim Deok-bu, son of Chief State Councillor Sim On and younger brother of Queen Soheon, he was a maternal uncle of Kings Munjong and Sejo. His mother was a daughter of An Cheon-bo, and his younger brother Sim Gyeol served as head of the Privy Council.
Barred from office for years because of his father's execution in 1418, he was appointed through hereditary privilege after his father was exonerated late in Sejong's reign and Munjong took the throne. Under Sejo he became Minister of Works in 1457, Mayor of Hanseong in 1458, Minister of Punishments in 1461 and Governor of Gyeonggi in 1463, then Left State Councillor in 1466 and Chief State Councillor in 1467 — making three successive generations of chief ministers. Sejo is said to have treated him with special regard as his uncle.
In 1468 he was named a second-rank Ikdae Merit Subject for handling the Nam I case, and in 1471 he took part in government as a regent-minister for the young King Seongjong. In 1473 he became a second-rank Jwari Merit Subject and Prince Cheongsong, and in 1491 he received the armrest and staff granted to elder statesmen. He died in 1493 at 76.
In the 1504 purge, however, he was posthumously stripped of office and his corpse was mutilated for having supported the deposition of Yeonsangun's mother; he was later exonerated. His grandson Sim Sun-mun also perished in that purge. Sim Sun-mun's sons Sim Yeon-won and Sim Tong-won became state councillors under Myeongjong, and their descendants — including Queen Insun, Westerner leader Sim Ui-gyeom and Queen Danui — made his line the core of the Anhyo-gong branch.
His sons included Sim In, Sim Han and Sim Won; through Sim Won's son Sim Sun-mun came the state councillors Sim Yeon-won and Sim Tong-won.
